Concrete Shotcreting
Concrete shotcreting involves pneumatically projecting concrete at high speed through pumps or shotcrete machines, which can use either dry or wet mixtures. The concrete is sent to the ground to be stabilized through a system of hoses. This type of concrete conforms to the terrain surface, reducing the need for formwork. Because it is highly cohesive, it adheres easily to the surface being stabilized, making it suitable for use in hard-to-reach areas. Plastic or metal fibers can be added to the shotcrete before spraying to improve adhesion and prevent potential cracks when thicker screens are required.
